The Nigerian Communication Commission,NCC in collaboration with the Adamawa state government has commenced a two day training workshop on digital skills for 150 youths in the state.
Delivering his welcome address at opening ceremony in Yola Thursday, the Executive Vice Chairman of Commission (NCC) Dr.Aminu Maida said that, the training would be impactful to all the beneficiaries and communities they represent in the state (Adamawa) and the country at large.
Represented at the occasion by the Director Human Capital and Administration of the Commission, Barrister Usman Mala,Dr. Maida stated that the development was a testament of government’s commitment towards engaging youths in businesses for a brighter future.
Maida assured that the2-day workshop would immensely to equip participants with essential skills for active engagement in the digital ecosystem and enhancing employability.
He however enjoin the resource persons and other stakeholders as well as various types of digital skills participants to focus on the takeaways from the training and use even after the training as it would go along way in creating more job opportunities within the market space.
“This initiative, in collaboration with the state, aims to empower the youth to embrace the digital economy.
“Our participants would be trained in digital skills with specialization in Introduction to Web Development, Digital Marketing,Digital Transformation, Cyber security,as well as Introduction to IoT among others”.Maida maintained.
Earlier in his keynote remarks,the Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said that his government is working round the clock to transform the state from its current economic status to a digitally driven society to enhance the socio economic growth of the state.
Represented by the secretary to the state government, SSG. Auwwal Tukur, Governor Fintiri stated that the government has observed with keen interest that technology is speedily taking spaces of all human endeavors.
