This is actually the first time we are trying to get them (the cricketers) close to Nigeria government; we are trying to get the country to know what is going on in the field of cricket worldwide.
“We are trying to see how we can get the National Sports Commission (NSC) to come to understand the implications of where we are today as playing from Nigeria in Division 5.
“Once we qualify for the Division 4, is going to be an embarrassment to us if we don’t have the facilities in place to be able to support the game going forward that is what the game calls for once you get to Division 4.
Onyeama said Tanzania and Nigeria are the two Africa countries in Division 5, adding that it would be a pride for the country to move to Division 4.
The president, who said that Nigeria was a cricket playing nation, expressed hope that NSC would put the facilities in place once the team got promoted.
“I am very hopeful. I am trying to get NSC to understand where we are today when it comes to cricket, that it’s high time that the facilities of cricket has to be developed in Nigeria.
“Because today it’s glaring in the world that Nigeria is a cricket playing nation once we get to division 4 there are thing that are expected from us,
“We are expected to host teams on a playing tour, just like we are on a playing tour to Sri Lanka and we are being hosted, that is what the game stipulate.”
Onyeama, added that countries in Division 4 were expected to start playing interactive sports with those that were well established in the game.
