The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, yesterday commenced the supervision of its Graduate Attachment Programme, GAP, beneficiaries and establishments.

During the supervision, the agency visited 11 Federal and State establishmrents in Benue State that are in partnership with the programme.

They include,Teaching Service Board, TSB, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Benue State Primary Health Care Board, Benue State Electoral Commission, BSIEC ,Lower  Benue River Basin, Universal Basic Education, UBEC, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Federal Medical Center,Protocol Office, University of Agriculture and Civil Service Commission.

It should be noted that over 75 graduates are presently participating in the three months program which is domiciled under the Special Public Works, SPW Deparrtment.

Deputy Director Special Public Works Philip Momoh who led the team from Abuja explained that the program aims at bridging the unemployment gap in the country.

He said NDE alone cannot fight unemployment hence the need to partner Federal and State establishments through the program to offer jobs to the participants.

“We want to see how these participants are faring during their attachment period. We want to know if they are doing well to deserve permanent appointment in the organizations”.
