Under the Community-Based Training Scheme (CBTS) in Kaduna State, over 40 youth and women have received starter packs as loans.
These beneficiaries, who hail from the 23 Local governments within the states, were granted the starter packs upon completion of their skills acquisition training.
The acquired skills encompassed catering, shoe making, sewing machines, and fashion design, with each beneficiary receiving a starter pack tailored to their acquired skill set.
During the presentation of the starter packs to the selected beneficiaries, NDE State Coordinator Ahmed Idris Kawure emphasized that the loans must be repaid within a three-year timeframe.
He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the equipment prudently, enabling them to fulfill their loan repayment obligations.
Kawure emphasized that with determination and commitment, the beneficiaries can achieve self-reliance through the acquired skills.
NDE Acting Zonal Director Suleiman Ibrahim encouraged the beneficiaries to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice. He advised them against selling the equipment provided, assuring them that they would be monitored to assess their progress in six months.
