NDE train 850 participants in various skill acquisition Programme in Gombe

No fewer than 850 participants were said to have been trained in various skills acquisition Programme through the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Gombe state.
The head of department vocational skills development Mr. Adamu B. Barde stayed this in an interview with our correspondent on Thursday on behalf of the state coordinator of the NDE Mr. Hassan Mustapha.
He said the the training was aimed at supporting the participants to key into various skills acquisition programmes to acquire knowledge in order to be self-reliant.
He said 650 participants are currently undergoing the training that will last for 3 weeks, while 200 female will be trained for 2 weeks in cosmetology.
He said the cosmetology training which include soap making, pomade, room freshener among others will go along way in encouraging female to key into the programme.
“There is need for unemployed youths to engage themselves in such programmes than looking for white collar job”, he added.
According to him, the skill acquisition training programmes will also help boost the knowledge of participants in the area of computer, carpentry, GSM repairs among others.
