NDE trains 400 youths, women on agro-businesses in Adamawa

With a view to creating employment opportunities and ensuring self reliance in entrepreneurship, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has trained 400 unemployed youths on agro-businesses in Adamawa state.
Information Officer of the Directorate, Hajiya Aisha Madu Fika disclosed the development in a press statement issued Wednesday in Yola, highlighting that the 400 beneficiaries including youths and women have been equipped in six (6) different Agro-businesses such as, sustainable Agriculture training scheme,Micro-livestock Agriculture training scheme and Small stock (goat) production training scheme.
The statement further mentioned other aspects of the training to include; Fish production training scheme, Community based Agriculture training scheme as well as Organic Agriculture training scheme.
Fika explained that,the training ranges from one to three months respectively and that, the Directorate is working on how to empower the most commended and disciplined among them to start their own business.
The group alleged that there were consistent and blatant violations of the federal character principles and the arbitrary abuse of due process in employment, promotions and refusal to follow approved civil service rules by the current management of the Agency.
National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Bassey Newgent Ekamon (JP),vin a petition to the National Assembly, the Federal Civil Service Commission, the Federal Character Commission and the Head of Service of the Federation, alleged among others that cases of executive recklessness has reached unprecedented heights in recent times in the Commission with only one ethnic group dominating the agency to the detriment of others.
