The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has initiated training for 69 youths, including women, representing each of the 23 local governments in Kaduna State.
During the launch of the Community-Based Training Scheme in Kaduna, Ahmad Jibril Kawure, the NDE State Coordinator, stated that over 100 people were previously trained by the directorate in January.
He said these 69 young individuals will receive training in various skills to promote self-reliance. Kawure encouraged the staff to provide the same level of support and cooperation to his successor, emphasizing the importance of elevating the directorate’s activities.
Abubakar Nuhu Fikpho, the Director-General of NDE, represented by the North West Zonal Coordinator Ibrahim Suleiman, stressed the need for state governments and other stakeholders to continue collaborating to create employment opportunities for Nigerians.
He said the goal of the skill acquisition training is to equip youth with self-reliance skills and prepare them to be employers in the future, complementing the federal government’s efforts in job creation.
