National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of 75 youth beneficiaries in Community Base Training Scheme (CBTS) under Vocational Skills Development Department VSD in Minna, Niger state.
The Director General Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo made this known during the official flag- off and orientation of the program going on simultaneously in 18 states of the federation.
Nuhu Fikpo represented by the state Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Dantsoho Abubakar said that 3 participants were selected from each of the 25 local government areas who are expected to pick one out of the 5 categories of the training skills provided.
The DG urged the beneficiaries to put in the required attention in order to secceed in their training just as some of the trainees that performed outstandingly will benefit from starter packs to start their own businesses.
He explained that the training skills include; computer appreciation, hair dressing, bag making, fashion designing and catering, adding that the participants are expected to be given stipends to complement their transportation expenses.
The Director VSD Headquarters represented by Jamila Suleiman appreciated the agency for its continuous programmes aimed at creating job opportunities to the teaming youths and women in the country.
She told the participants to remain focused and committed to the training skills so as to be self employed and reliant hence the era of waiting for white collar jobs is no longer attainable in the society.
