NDLEA seized 1,845 kg hard drugs in Adamawa

About 1,081.9 kilograms of suspected substances to be cannabis sativa (indian herm) has been seized by the Adamawa state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
State Commander of the Command, Mr.Femi Agboalu disclosed the development at a press conference in Yola, Monday, announcing that the Command has secured 174 conviction of drugs offenders in the last one year.
Commander, Agboalu said in the period under review, the command also made seizures of 7 drums of formalin commonly called ( suck and die) and 28.013kg of cough syrup with codeine.
He noted that, the year under review witnessed a reduction of persons arrested by 25 percent and increase in the number of seizures made by 33 percent.
According to him, “while thanking God for no lost of any officer and men of the command in the last three years, the command is faced with inadequate logistics to fight the menence of drugs abuse because of bigger responsibility,
added with the establishment of offices in all the 21 local government and six zonal command in Adamawa state.”
