Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed yesterday in Abuja, resumed duty as authentic Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
President Muhammadu Buhari has earlier approved the appointment of Dogara Ahmed to takes over from Mrs Christy Uba who was named the overseer of the NYSC in November 2022.
It could be recalled that President Buhari in a letter, with reference number, SGF.50/S.10/37, November 21, 2022, sacked Brigadier General Muhammad Fadah, barely six months after his appointment on allegations of corruption, nepotism, religious bias, qualifications and age falsification.
President Buhari, therefore, ordered that the most senior director should take charge pending the appointment of a substantive DG.
In her keynote address, the outgoing director general, Mrs Christy Uba, said the management and staff have agreed to support the new director general to succeed in his endeavors.
She praised president Mohammadu Buhari for given her the opportunity to served in the capacity of director general of NYSC.
Speaking earlier, Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, said lauded the management of the scheme for the success recorded despite it numerous challenges.
He urged for cooperation of the management, general public and staff to succeed in the skill acquisition of the scheme as well as his initiatives to move NYSC forward for the betterment of Nigeria.
Dogara Ahmed, who had served in the NYSC as a military Assistant to previous DG and had also served as a commandant, at Command Secondary School, Ipaja, Lagos resumed duty yesterday.
