New permanent secretary resumes duty in Agric ministry

The A newly appointed Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Arc. Sunday Echono has assumed duty.

Arc. Echono, during the handing over and taking over ceremony in Abuja, solicited the unalloyed support and cooperation of staff of the ministry to succeed.

The Permanent Secretary underscored the importance of discipline, commitment and diligence to duty, saying that his administration would not tolerate negative work attitudes but rather, healthy social partnership with workers in pursuit of nation building.

A statement by Tony Ohaeri, a Director of Information in the ministry said, Arc. Echono reminded the staff of the mandate of the ministry to achieve sustainable food security, create jobs and wealth, as well as enhance the par capita income of the people via Agri-business of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA).

Earlier in her remarks, the out-gone Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, thanked the entire staff of the ministry for their support throughout her tenure, saying that the journey of life of every human is pre-determined by God.

She however advised the new Permanent Secretary to take his time to study her handing-over notes which she said contain significant information that would assist him in the smooth running of the ministry.
