NFF crisis: not yet uhuru for Pinnick, says Jalla

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Footballers (NANF) Harrison Jalla, said the purported statement from the Federal Government bowing to FIFA and Amaju Pinnick remains a pyrrhic victory. The battle is not over.
Jalla who issued a one-page statement was called up on phone and added that, “good enough, NANF as the architects of this crisis arising from the illegal decisions of the Makurdi Congress cannot and will not be guided by the decision of the Federal Government which is wrong ab initio.”
Jalla’s statement asserted that, “the purported statement from Mr. Laolu Akande’s Twitter handle purporting to have recognised Amaju Pinnick Board inspite of a Supreme Court judgment if true it’s a pyrrhic victory.
Asked what will be the way forward, he advised, “Pinnick cannot be protected effectively by his corrupt friends in the FIFA headquarters. Football is worse today in Nigeria that it was when he became NFF President. Can he account for all the monies he made for the sport? There is the allegation of diversion of N6.7billion which he has to clear first.”
The Federal Government acted based on the fear of a FIFA ban. It is either the Federal Government voluntarily withdraws from FIFA to enable reform or they encourage Nigerians not to believe in the courts. If the latter is the option, life will become short, brutish and uneventful. Our judiciary will not and cannot be messed on the anvil of political expediency that informed the decision.”
