NFF denouement: NRA, NANPF, NFCA commend Buhari

Date:

The National leadership of the Nigeria Football Referees Association, (NRA) the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) and the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) have express unreserved appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari GCFR for his swift intervention in the NFF leadership imbroglio.
It would be recalled that following the leadership Crisis of the Nigeria Football Federation, the groups in an emergency joint meeting held on the 18th of July 2018, in Abuja called for the President’s intervention to avoid FIFA’s ban with its far reaching consequences on the lives of millions of Nigeria youths involved in football activities
In what appeared a response to their plea, the President on Monday directed the relevant state institutions in the country to restore normalcy to the National Secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation by reverting to status quo.
In a joint statement signed by NRA President, Tade Azeezs and NANPF Secretary-General, Comrade Austin Popo, the groups appealed to stakeholders to reciprocate the President’s good gesture by finding amicable solutions to the crisis.
“We therefore call on and appeal to all stakeholders to reciprocate the kind gesture of Mr President by working towards a peaceful resolution and electoral process in accordance with the relevant provisions of the NFF and FIFA statutes in the interest of Nigeria Football and millions of Nigeria youths involved in football,” the statement concluded.
