The Secretary of Niger State chapter of All Progressive Congress APC, Barrister Mohammed Liman have refuted alleged rift between the party and Governor Abubakar Sani Bello as many hours meeting with him was to foster understanding.
Liman said this yesterday in an interview and emphasized that there was no rift between the party and the executive and legislative arms of government in the state, hence the long hours meeting at the weekend was aimed towards bringing all stakeholders on same page, before 2019 elections and how far the party have gone.
He said that the meeting, which the deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, who represented his boss, further discussed the issue of defectors from other political parties who want to join the ruling APC, which is the responsibility of the party to inform the executive, although that was supposed to be done at wards level.
The party secretary stated that there is the need for party stakeholders to be on one page, exhibiting unity of purpose for harmonious relationship between them as we moved towards elections, hence needed to speak with one voice.
He disclosed that the party is satisfied with the performance and activities of the executive and legislature, considering the available resources at their disposal, hence it’s impossible to get 100% expectations of the people met.
Liman attributed the challenges confronting the present administration to the perpetuated routine inheritance from the 16 years misrule, mismanagement and maladministration of the past Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government in the state and Nigeria.
“This is what the people (citizens) wanted the APC government to correct, two years is not enough to correct 16 years of uninterrupted misrule, corruption, mismanagement and maladministration,” he stated.
He stressed that change cannot be achieved in a day, but it’s a process to be completed before we have a societal change, hence the need for Nigerians to be patient with the present administration despite the high expectations of the citizens; if it must succeed in its agenda.
