Niger Assembly keeps mum over corruption petition against it

A group under the auspices of ‘Group for Good Governance and No to Corruption’ in Niger State have petition the State House of Assembly on corruption allegations calling for the resignation of the Speaker and his Deputy to avoid shielding investigation into the matter.
The group in it petition signed by four of its members which was made available to journalists in Minna, accused the Niger state House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Ahmed Marafa Guni, and his Deputy, Hon. Hussaini Ibrahim, for their alleged deep involvement in corruption scandals and unconstitutional practices.
The petition was written to the assembly members through the Clerk, Alhaji Abdullahi Kagara, to the Niger state House of Assembly title “Re- Petition on illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional payment of security, vehicle, transport, furniture and housing allowances to the Hon. Speaker and Deputy Speaker” and was delivered to them through DHL express dated 22nd September, 2017.
The group in a separate petitions to the Speaker and his Deputy “Re- A letter calling for your immediate resignation as Speaker/ Deputy Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly” for their unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional breaches of collecting about N20 million each as lawmakers remained silent.
