Niger State House of Assembly has raised an alarm over activities of bandits at the Military training camp in the state.
Abdullahi Isah representing Kontagora 11 state constituency, said the activities forced residents to flee the community.
The training camp is said to be situated at the Nagwamase military cantonment in Kontagora, the headquarters of Kontagora local government area of the state.
He told the house that the activities of the gunmen has also chased out about 23 communities within the camp.
In a motion of urgent public importance he said the military camp which occupied very large pieces of land extending from Kontagora local government to part of Mariga local government is now being occupied by the gunmen.
“Following the occupation of the training camp by the bandits, over 23 farming communities within the camp have relocated due to the incessant attacks by the gunmen.”
Meanwhile, the Assembly urged the state government to liaise with the military authority to flush out the bandits from the training camp.
The Nagwamase military cantonment, Kontagora hosts the largest military training camp in Nigeria.
