The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger state, Most Rev. Dr Bulus Dauwa Yohanna has urged christians not to participate in the planned nationwide protest slated for August first.
He stated this is a statement issued and made available to journalists in Minna, saying “genuine protest can easily be seized by hoodlums and selfish groups to cause enormous havoc on innocent citizens.”
In his message titled: ‘Let us shun protest’ he said violence has never yielded positive results that was announced in churches.
Dr. Bulus Yohanna described peace as an ongoing and dynamic process that demands perpetual attention and constant effort to attain and maintain.
The CAN Chairman who is also the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to work on price control for goods and services, and address rising cost of living.
According to him, “Let us take advantage of the farming season especially now that the farmer fovernor is proactive and has prioritized the Agriculture sector with the hope of feeding the nation.”
