Niger FOMWAN Seeks Partnership to Ensure PHC Service Delivery

Federal of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN) Niger State Chapter has called for the stakeholders partnership in addressing the challenges confronting effective and efficient Primary Healthcare Service (PHC) delivery in the state.
The state Ameera of FOMWAN, Hauwa Kulu Abdullahi made the disclosure in an interview during a three Day Consultative Inception Meeting for Collaborative Project held in Minna, decried low level of women involvement in Ward Development Committee hence she called for it reversal of such sideline.
She explained that the initiative is to establish commitment and cooperation among projects and key stakeholders in Niger state PHC, adding that it’s a development partner with International Budget Partners (IBP) in 6 local government areas to include; Bida, Gbako, Chanchaga, Paikoro, Wushishi and Kontagora.
Ameera Kulu Abdullahi noted that the federation carried out Base Assessment Program this year through enumerators in some selected PHC Service centres to ascertain the services, challenges, prospects in order to find areas of intervention.
She stressed that the aim is for all stakeholders to join their findings tobe forwarded to relevant authorities for appropriate action like personnel deficit, lack of toilet facilities among others to curb the high rate of moternal and morterlity in the state.
Niger state Commissioner Ministry of Primary Healthcare Service (PHC), Dr. Ibrahim Dangana represented by a director from the ministry, Dr. Hauwa Kolo assured government of providing affordable and accessible basic health care services in Niger state.
