Niger state governor Mohammed Umar Bago has joined other Nigerian governor’s who left the country amidst planned nationwide protest against hunger and economic hardship.
Governor Bago also for the first time in one year has sent a letter to the state house of assembly to allow his deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba to officially act on his behalf.
The governor in a letter to the Niger State House of Assembly in which the lawmakers at a restricted executive session unanimously allegedly approved the governor’s leave and allowing his deputy to take charge for the first time after several foreign travels.
According to the letter presented at the session , governor Mohammed Umar Bago will be out of the state to an undisclosed country for a holiday for the scheduled period while he is expected back to the state after the expiration of time requested.
Bago recently in a very restricted stakeholders meeting at Legbo Kutigi in Minna declared that the Niger state youths will not join the nationwide planned protest against the federal government over the current hardship and hunger.
He used the forum to dish out vehicles to his commissioners, assembly members, traditional rulers and religious leaders, security chiefs, students unions, while urging them to support his administration.
