Niger State Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has presented budget of over N238 billion naira for the 2023 physical year to the state Assembly.

The Governor said the over N200 billion budget titled; ‘Budget of Consolidated and Transition’ is the last to be presented by his administration.

Presenting the budget before the state house of Assembly, the Governor explained that the budget is aimed at completing projects at advanced stages, increase internal revenue generation, maximize potentials and encourage private sector participation in the development of the state.

Governor Bello said the budget has the  recurrent expenditure of over N90 billion while the capital expenditure stood at over N147 billion.

He said the Economic Sector has the highest estimate of over N99 billion while the Law and Justice Sector gets over N1 billion representing zero point nine percent.

He said the budget will focus on security, agriculture, infrastructural development, education, health and many others.

In his remarks, the Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Bawa Wuse commended the executive arm for the presentation of the 2023 budget estimate and assured of commitment to ensure quick passage of the appropriation bill.
