Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has set up a 13 man committee to assist in that government policies publication.
The committee that would be chaired by the Niger State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Comrade Mohammed Mohammed with a civil servant as the Secretary from SSGs office is mandated to assist the state government in propagating all government activities and programmes in the state.
Governor Bello who declared that it’s named Standing Committee on Media Strategy and Communication (SCMSC), added that this is his baby which will be inaugurated by himself at the council just like any other standing committees set up by his administration but this will be given top priority.
He assured to give full support and assistance to the committee to succeed, he regretted that for the last over two years could not get the required results from successive media teams in charge of media and publicity of his government achievements.
Accordingly, the committee is mandated to coordinate and control the state publicity for proper dissemination, to create good image for the state in all the media platform including print/electronic and online/social media as well to make overall recommendations to the state government on how to strategize media activities in Niger State.
In his remarks, Comrade Mohammed Mohammed called for the cooperation and support of the committee members and media practitioners in the state to work as a team, assuring not to let the state down in all ramifications.
