The Niger state government has applauded the invention of Mathematics and Chemistry games which will be used as instructional materials to enhance teaching and learning of the subjects in the state.
The State Commissioner of Education, Hajiya Fatima Madugu disclosed this while unavailing the games during NUT Endwell Model Science School annual speech and prize given day held in Minna.
Represented by a director in the Ministry, Malam Usman Ahmed said that this is the first of its kind in Nigeria adding that the innovations were proofs of the quality of teachers employed by the school.
The inventors of the games were Mr. Unogwu Itodo Joseph (Mathematics scrabble; called Mathzzlei) and Mr. Haruna Dauda Suleiman (Chemistry game; called Nuthozee) who were both teachers from the school.
In their separate interviews they stated that they were encouraged to embark on the game project due to the school management constant challenged to be creative and innovative in ideas.
The National Assistant Secretary General, Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Comrade Labaran Garba commended the teachers for their efforts in adding value to the teaching profession in Nigeria.
