The Director General, Niger State Pension Board, Alhaji Usman Tinau Mohammed has said that efforts are on top gear to commence the payment of retirement benefits of 287 and 257 retirees from the state and 25 local governments.
He made the disclosure while speaking to some journalists in his office in Minna.
He however called on the pensioners to be more patient as they await Governor Abubakar Sani Belli’s approval to commence payment.
Mohammed assured pensioners of the present administration’s concern in addressing all pension related challenges in the state within the possible shortest term.
He reiterated the determination of the board that those who were reverted to the old pension scheme by the amended law of the state Contribution Pension Scheme CPS assured that modalities have been put in place in addressing their entitlements payment as soon as funds are available.
