Niger state government has earmarked N3 billion with an estimate of N300 million to cater for monthly salary payment in the 2023 budget appropriation for the targeted 3,000 new employees in the state.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Malam Zakari Abubakar made the disclosure while addressing journalists on the 2023 budget breakdown tagged: “Budget of Consolidated and Transition”, to the sum of over N238 billion.

Abubakar noted that the total estimated revenue of the budget was derived from five sources to include; statutory allocation, value added tax, internally generated revenue, capital receipt and other sources like refunds and donors among others.

He explained that the Niger state has a very lower physical responsibility in a sustainable manner.

The Commissioner revealed that the highest allocation goes to the infrastructure sub sector with over N53.4 billion for the completion of state roads, about N1 billion for the renovation of public buildings and over N7 billion for the water sub sector.
