Niger Gov’t Expresses Readiness to Strengthen Primary Healthcare Services

Niger State Ministry of Primary Healthcare has expressed readiness to strengthen all policies that will ensure effective and efficient PHC service delivery in the state.
The Commissioner PHC, Dr Ibrahim Dangana gave the assurance at the official flag off ceremony of some of the ministrys program, held at the Emir’s palace in Minna.
Dr Dangana said the present administration will continue to provide enabling environment with some of such interventions, while disclosing the disbursement of N300,000 to all 374 facilities in the state.
He noted that this funds will allow them procure essential medicines, commodities for routine immunization, antenatal care, family services, nutrition as well as to conduct outreaches around them , also affirming that the ministry will liase with security agencies to curtail constrain caused by insecurity.
The Special Guest at the event and wife of the governor Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago explained the importance of the program while she appreciated the ministry for the partnership and commitment in addressing critical issues bedeviling the health sector especially those that affects women and children.
The programmes flagged off included, National Immunization plus Days NIPD, distribution of mama kits to pregnant women, distribution of ready to use therapeutic food, kitting of chips agents and distribution of data tools, distribution of motorcycles to some LGAs to ease movement and also reduce child mortality.
In their separate remarks, the partner agencies like WHO, UNICEF among others congratulated the state for taking the lead in the PHC, emphazing the importance of partnership in addressing the challenges confronting the section and proferring solution to them.
