Niger govt gives matching order to contractors

 The Niger State Government has given a matching order to contractors handling all the ongoing projects in the State to complete them at the stipulated periods or face revocation.

Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Hon. Saidu Ndako Idris Kpaki handed down the warning yesterday in Minna during an inspection tour of Neo-Natal and Maternal Clinic and presentation of three Toyota Hilux Vehicles to the supervising ministries of the projects.

He charged the contractor of the project, Mutual Commitment Limited, to ensure the completion of the projects before the stipulated period of October 1, this year, adding that October 1, has been fixed for the commission of the project by the Chief Servant, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, hence the contractor must meet the deadline.

The SSG said the vehicles are meant for projects supervision by Ministries of Health, Works, and the Directorate of Public-Private Partnership, stressing that the involvement of the Ministries and the Directorate is to ensure quality work and speedy completion of the project.

He urged the recipient of the vehicles to ensure their proper utilization for the purpose they are meant for.

Responding shortly after receiving the vehicles, the Director General Public-Private Partnership, Muhammed Shehu Kudu assured the SSG the firm will leave above board by completing the project on schedule.

The Director General explained that when the project is completed the issue of maternal and mortality will be a thing of the pass in the State as the present administrations strives to meet health related MDGs.
