Niger State Commissioner of Transport Ministry, Hajiya Ramatu Yar’adua, has handed over no fewer than 100 life jackets to the communities around Shiroro and Erena axis of Shiroro Local Government Area.
Ramatu disclosed this at the presentation of the materials to the communities to avoid future boat mishap that occurred recently in Shiroro.
Represented by the Commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development, Alhaji Mamman Musa said that the life jackets where provided by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello government so as to curb boat mishap tragedy.
He said the governor was sympathetic for losing the productive citizens of the community who are predominantly farmers and fisher men.
