Niger NBA inaugurates new executives

The Niger State branch, Nigerian Bar Association NBA has inaugurated its 8 man newly elected executive committee members chaired by Barrister Gimba Mohammed Esq and Bar. Mohammed Waziri Esq as Secretary of the association.
The Chief Judge of Niger state, Justice Maria Sanda Zhukogi in his address urged members of bar to acquaint themselves with the new dimension of criminalities in the society like insurgency, cattle rustling and kidnapping.
Zhukogi advised that while pursuing justice should not deliberately delay trial to free client especially criminals because of the consequences of such release in to the society.
He called for cordial relationship between the bar and bench while charging members of the bar to always cooperate with each other to ensure mutual respect to protect the noble profession that must ensure respect for the senior and discipline in the eyes of the public.
Represented by Justice Aliyu Maiyaki who told the counsels to take advantage of their profession to settle disputes and resolved crisis, added that settlements outside court has not yielded much results hence the need to put more efforts in such direction.
He appealed to judges to make themselves available for appropriate discussions just as they are human beings who are bound to make some little mistakes but with understanding of the bar and bench issues will be amicably resolved.
In his acceptance speech the elected chairman, Gimba Mohammed said that the executive will focus more on the welfare. security and economic advancement of its members.
The outgoing Chairman, Barrister Mohammed Ndayeko applauded the branch’s electoral committee for conducting free, fair, and rancor free election to ensure smooth transition.
