Niger State command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC has received no fewer than 1,578 cases and recovered over N56.987 million in the last one year.
The State Commandant, Haruna Bala Zurmi made this known while briefing newsmen on the command stewardship, saying that the funds recovery were returned to their rightful owners.
He explained that the cases ranging from criminal breach of trust, theft, assault, trespass, burglary, dept, land disputes and others while civil cases were refered to the peace and conflict management unit for alternative disputes resolution.
Zurmi noted that the command have intercepted many vehicles loaded with vandalized public materials, adding that it has resolved cases 1,428 out of the 1,578 recorded, fifteen cases were prosecuted with eight convictions while 147 cases were pending just as cases not in its mandate were transferred to the appropriate organizations.
He emphasized on the need of community participation in crimes to desist from such act and give useful information to the security agency so as to nip on the bud hence the need for effective and efficient service delivery by the command in the state.
