Niger Police arrest 2 for homicide, rescue 15 almajiri

The Niger state police command has arrested two suspects identified as one Abdulkadir Alh. Ibrahim and Abubakar Idris of Dabban village in Lavun local government for killing one Hauwa Saidu of Patigi from Kwara State.
According to the command spokesman ASP Wasiu A. Abiodun, “based on information received, Police Operatives attached to SARS Minna arrested one Abdulkadir Alh. Ibrahim age 25yrs ‘m’ of Fulani camp Doko village Lavun LGA and Abubakar Idris a.k.a Kullel age 29yrs ‘m’ of Dabban village Lavun LGA who conspired among themselves and lured one Hauwa Alh. Saidu age 18yrs ‘f’ of Fulani camp Kpada village via Patigi Kwara State to Effa village Lavun LGA where she was attacked and killed by the suspects with their cutlass” he said.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the state command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Wasiu A. Abiodun which was made available to journalists in Minna.
According to him, “Some parts of the deceased’s body were severed, and taken away to unknown destination while her remain was abandoned in the bush.
“The body remain was recovered, suspects arrested and confessed to the crime. Case under investigation and suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.
In same Vein, ASP Abiodun stated that “acting on a reliable information received, Police Operatives attached to ‘A’ Division Suleja arrested one Umar Ahmed aged 46yrs ‘m’ of Anguwan Gwari Suleja, for keeping about fifteen (15) children in a dehumanizing condition in the guise of Almajiri School.
He informed that the children were of ages ranging between 2yrs-10yrs were rescued from the suspects house, and three chains used to tie their legs were also recovered, the victims were handed over to Niger State Child Right Agency.
