Niger: Speaker urges politicians to close ranks to tackle challenges

The Niger state House of Assembly Speaker, Barrister Adamu Usman, in his 54th  Independence Day Anniversary message, has urged political office holders irrespective of party differences, to close ranks and religiously address the current challenges facing the country.

The Speaker made this known in a press statement, issued by his media assistant, Usman Mohammed Chidi, noting that security of lives and property remain the bedrock of any meaningful development and stressed that it behoves on the nation’s leaders to provide the needed plat form for steady political stability and economic prosperity of the country.

He however challenged the people to continue to support their leaders at all levels to achieve the desired objective.

Usman advised the people to always embrace peace and harmonious coexistence adding that, the society can only make progress, when people are guided by the spirit of love, harmony, sincerity of purpose and decorum.

Barrister Usman felicitated with the people of the state to mark the auspicious occasion also challenged Nigerlites not to allow the sweat and spirit of patriotism of those who fought for the liberation of the country from Colonial Masters to go in vain but rather they should engage in acts that could further solidify the bond of relationship existing among them.

He said despite political turmoils, upheavals and economic pillage, Nigeria has recorded remarkable achievements especially in the area of infrastructural development, economic empowerment of the productive sector, access to affordable health care services and entrench democracy in the country.
