The Niger State government has expended about N787 million for the provision of structure, equipment and required manpower to secured accreditation of School of Nursing Bida, School of Midwifery Minna and College of Nursing Sciences, Kontagora.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Makun Sidi made the disclosure at a press briefing after the state executive council meeting.
Dr Sidi reiterated the determination of the present administration in reshaping the health sector by putting in place all the necessary materials to ensure the people of the state get the best health services.
He said that the ministry has the required quality and quantity of human resources needed for the health institutions in the state that is crucial for its operations most especially School of Nursing, Bida which has existed for 42 years without accreditation of its courses.
Sidi appreciated the Commissioner, wife of the governor and state government for taken cognisance of the importance of the health sector as one of the most top priority hence the needful for full accreditation.
He further said that the schools has witnessed tremendous infrastructure development, procured equipment, e- library, school bus, manpower development and employment just as Bida has only four tutors but now have seventeen tutors as plan has been put in place for its sustainability to the sum of N300 million.
