The Executive Chairman of Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State, Hon. Danladi T. Iya, has expressed joy over the peaceful conduct of the Governorship/State House of Assembly elections in the area.
Iya, who stated this in an interview with newsmen while motoring the election in the Local Government Area on Saturday, said he was impressed by the turned out of voters in some polling units.
He called on the electorates to always support the All Progressives Congress (APC) party in Tafa and Niger State at large and warned the electorates to shun electoral violence during the election.
He expressed the hope that APC would emerge victorious in the state by the grace of the almighty God, noting that some electorates were still committed to the electoral process.
He then noted that in spite of the postponement of the election, some electorates came out to vote for the candidates of their choice, pointing out that people are truly desirous of change.
Iya, who voted in his polling unit, however, said the process of the election had been impressive and very encouraging.
Also speaking to newsmen in Tafa, the APC Chairman in the area, Mr. Isyaku Suleiman expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the election in some polling booths.
He pointed out that APC would do well in the election, lamenting that good number of voters had not come out to vote.
when asked on the low turnout of voters, the Tafa APC Chairman said the inability of the electorates to come out to vote would not prevent Party candidates to win the election.
Meanwhile, it was observed that there was low turnout of voters in Seleja, Tafa and Gurara during the poll.
