Niger to benefit from FG’s agric devt training-Official

The Niger State National Directorate of Employment NDE is to benefit from the Federal Government’s 600 beneficiaries of Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme SADTS for 19 states and Abuja.
The NDE Director General, Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed Ladan made the disclosure while flagging off the pilot programme in Minna, saying that the scheme has carefully selected nineteen states with FCT.
Ladan, however, warned against entertaining corruption in anyway just as each state is to have 30 beneficiaries, adding that the training involved three main approach.
Those approaches he said includes: two weeks field training in crops/livestock, training farmers mentorship and linkages with development and money deposit banks as well as off- takers locally identified to reduced market risk.
Represented by Engr Faruk Abdulkarim Faruk the Rural Employment Promotion Development (REPD) Officer, headquarters stated that the current administration intended to make agriculture a profitable business for a long term economic growth and security through value chain approach.
The State Coordinator, Engr Abdullahi Mohammed however applauded the Federal Government for the continued gesture in getting the youths off the streets.
Mohammed urged them to take the training scheme seriously with commitment and emphasized to justified the knowledge gained to better their lives and the society, noted that poultry production is time consuming but will smile at the end.
The State HOD for REPD, Alhaji Abdulkarim Idris assured of adequate training of the beneficiaries which he described as a special one hence the stoppage of importation of poultry foods will be added advantage to the participants assurance of market that demanded for local production.
