Niger to benefit from FG’s VVF hospitals scheme- Commissioner

The Federal government has selected Niger state among states to benefit from the establishment of Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) hospital to be situated in Rafin Gora in Kontagora local government of the state.
The Commissioner of Health and Hospital Services, Dr Mustapha Mohammed Jibrin made the disclosure in Minna at a ministerial press conference organized by the state ministry of information and strategy on government stewardship from 2015 to date.
He explained that the state government situated the hospital in Zone C based on the statistics of the numbers of affected women (patient) where it has the highest number of people affected hence the need for its establishment.
Dr Jibrin added that Niger state has paid a counterpart fund of N250 million which is annually to accessed World Bank nutritional Programme of $14 million and decried that Mariga and Mashegu local governments were drawing the state backward considering the recent index conducted in the state.
