Nigeria @ 66: Ikpeazu seeks stronger Spain partnership in renewable energy, Agric, tech, creative sector

Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has informed of Nigeria’s readiness to deepen collaboration with Spain in renewable energy, infrastructure, agriculture, technology, and the creative industries.

Amb. Ikpeazu who made this known Thursday while marking the 66th anniversary of Nigeria independence in Madrid, Spain said that Nigeria deeply values Spain’s partnership and would deepen collaboration in areas of shared interest.

He noted the event was not only to commemorate the historic milestone, but also to reaffirm their enduring commitment to the ideals of freedom, unity, progress, and dignity that continue to guide Nigeria’s national journey, noting that it also provides an opportunity to reflect on the strong and growing bonds of friendship between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Spain.

Amb. Ikpeazu stated the bilateral relations were characterised by mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and expanding cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

He said that Spanish companies like GB Foods and others had continued to find opportunities in Nigeria’s dynamic market, with Nigerians in Spain contributing meaningfully to the social and economic fabric of the country.

While extending greetings to Nigerian community in Spain, students, professionals and entrepreneurs, Ikpeazu said they remained their most valuable ambassadors as their hard work, integrity, and achievements enhance the image of the nation and strengthen the bridges between the two countries.

He however, encouraged them to remain united, law-abiding, and proud carriers of the Nigerian spirit of enterprise, innovation and resilience.

He said to build a more prosperous and secure future for the nations, the support and friendship of partners such as Spain remain invaluable. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue creating opportunities for investment and business-to-business matchmaking to develop the country.

He called on Nigerians to unite in working together for a nation that is peaceful, prosperous, and respected in the comity of nations.
