The Super Falcons face a demanding path to qualify for the 2028 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in Los Angeles, with Nigeria required to overcome four rounds of two-legged knockout ties to secure one of Africa’s two available tickets.
Nigeria will begin its qualifying campaign against the Comoros in the second round, with both legs scheduled to be played at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo on October 9 and 13, 2026.
Should the Falcons advance, they will face either the Democratic Republic of Congo or Morocco in the third round, which is scheduled to take place between February 23 and March 6, 2027.
A place in the fourth round would bring another difficult challenge, as Nigeria could be drawn against Tunisia, Senegal, Benin Republic or Mali. Those fixtures are scheduled for October 4–12, 2027.
The final stage of the qualification process is set for November 23 to December 4, 2027. At that stage, the Falcons could meet Guinea, Cameroon, DR Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Central African Republic, Algeria or Burkina Faso.
With only two Olympic places available to African teams, the Super Falcons will need to negotiate a lengthy and challenging qualification campaign to secure their place in Los Angeles.
