The organizers of the annual Nigeria Mining Week (MMW) said they were expecting at least more than 100 mines and exploration companies to attend this year’s event.
They also disclosed that the event was expected to be graced by 40 exhibitors and sponsors, more than 900 attendees, 1500 hours business meeting and representives from 22 countries.
The NMW, hosted by the Ministry of Mines and Solid Minerals and organsied by Miners Assocition of Nigeria (MAN) in partnership with iPAD Nigeria (Mining and Quarrying Forum) and pwc, is in its third edition having started in 2016.
This year’s theme is Nigeria Mining Week: Enabling and Promoting Global Mining practices through good governance and resource mobilization.
Speakign on behalf of others, President of MAN, Sani Shehu, said the last event witnessed equipment being sold on site and deals being singed on site.
He said: “Our expection this year is for the Nigeria Mining Week to be a one stop shop for every miner, vendor, supplier and all key stakeholders.”
He further disclosed that there would be critical assessment of the industry, dialogue between government and private sector players, policy announcements, major deals endorsements and finance and investment pre-conference session.
He said this year’s event would be characterized by match making, mentorship program and outdoor equipment display.
According to Kudakwashe Tsingano, Business Development Manager, Spintelligent, described the event as one event shaping the mining landscape and that the success of the event was based on strong partnership and trust based relationships with stakeholders.
He said the 3rd edition would open the doors with privileged networking opportunities for serious investors, mining operators, finance houses and multilateral investors as well as technology solution providers seeking for a new market and new clients for mineral exploration and extraction.
The even is billed to take place between October 15 and 17.
