As the country marked her 54th independence, a retired Army officer in Dakwa community, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Abdullahi Dabo, has called on political leaders to emulate the countries fallen and living heroes to move the country forward.

Dabo, who made the call in a telephone interview with Peoples Daily in Dakwa over the country’s independence anniversary, also urged leaders to come together irrespective of their political differences to work for the unity and development of the FCT and the country at large.

He further pleaded with appointed political office holders to imbibe the spirit of love and peace, needed for the sustenance of the nation’s democracy.

Also, he appealed to the government at all levels to provide employment for the teeming young graduates roaming about on the streets across the country.

He added that the government should empower the less privileged youth to be self-employed in the society.

He however advisedthe youth to desist from any act capable of causing rancour and acrimony in the society, while urging them to be good diplomats of the country in anywhere they may find themselves.

Furthermore, Dabo, stressed the for the government to assist private companies and industries by giving them incentives to boost their businesses.
