The Nigerian Army has recorded significant operational successes across various theatres of operation in the last 24 hours, including the interception of suspected terrorist logistics, foiled attacks, and the rescue of kidnapped victims.
This is contained in an operational report made available on Monday, detailing activities of troops deployed in different parts of the country.
According to the report, troops of Operation Hadin Kai intercepted a truck conveying large quantities of medical supplies suspected to be intended for terrorist elements in the North-East.
The interception occurred at a checkpoint in Nguru, Yobe State, where the driver initially presented a waybill indicating the cargo contained beverages and household items.
However, a thorough search revealed hundreds of cartons of drugs, including antibiotics, injections, bandages, and other medical supplies.
The driver and three other occupants of the vehicle were arrested. The suspect later reportedly confessed that the consignment was destined for the Republic of Chad through Geidam.
In a related development, troops arrested a suspected ISWAP/JAS member in Ngamdu, Borno State, who confessed he had been sent from Jilli to procure food items for insurgents.
The suspect further disclosed that terrorists were currently regrouping around Gubio and Magumeri areas.
The report also indicated that troops apprehended two suspected terrorist collaborators in Monguno, Borno State, for allegedly facilitating the movement of a terrorist’s family members.
Items recovered from the suspects included mobile phones, cash, and other personal effects, while a woman and her three children linked to a terrorist kingpin were also taken into custody.
Meanwhile, troops foiled an attempted infiltration by insurgents in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State. The troops engaged the attackers in an ambush, forcing them to flee and abandon weapons and other items.
Follow-up operations led to the rescue of three kidnapped victims from a terrorist enclave.
Similarly, in Bama Local Government Area, troops destroyed a terrorist camp during clearance operations, compelling insurgents to withdraw under sustained pressure.
In Plateau State, troops of Operation Safe Haven recovered weapons during stop-and-search operations and arrested a suspected gunrunner.
In Bauchi State, additional kidnapped victims were rescued following the exploitation of earlier airstrikes.
In the Federal Capital Territory, troops conducting anti-illegal mining operations raided a site in Gwagwalada Area Council, recovering mining equipment, while suspects fled the scene.
In the South-South region, troops of Operation Delta Safe responded to a communal clash in Delta State, restoring normalcy after one fatality was recorded.
The troops also intensified anti-illegal bunkering operations in Rivers State, destroying illegal refining sites and recovering large quantities of stolen crude oil and refined petroleum products.
The military authorities reiterated their commitment to sustaining offensive operations, disrupting terrorist logistics networks, and ensuring security across the country.
