The Nigerian representatives in the ongoing 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship on Friday continued to excel as the Chief of Naval Spikers (CNS) defeated their Botswanan counterparts, SSV in three straight sets, 25-22, 25-21, 25-08.
It could be recalled that during the opening game on Thursday, the other Nigerian team, the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) had equally dismissed next door neighbours, the Maya Kane Evolution (MKE) of Cameroon in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.
The pool B match between CNS (NGR) and SSV (BOT) was a one sided encounter shortly after the girls from Botswana led momentarily in the second game.
The game between AHL (EGY) and SOC (SEN) in Pool C was also a one sided outing as AHL of Egypt edged out SOC of Senegal with 25-10, 25-14, 25-6
The CNS did Nigeria proud even with the very low turn out from supporters who dutifully cheered the Nigerian girls to victory.
The championship which has 20 teams from 14 countries is being sponsored by the Nigerian Customs Service.
