The Nigerian Turkish Nile University yesterday held its 2014/2015 matriculation, admitting 204 students.

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Huseyin Sert, said the matriculation would be the sixth since the inception of the university.

“The Nigerian Turkish Nile University commenced academic programme in 2009 with two faculties and seven departments,” he said.

“Not only are all these departments fully accredited, but we have also currently added the Faculty of Law, which has been fully accredited by the NUC; we are also proud to announce to our esteemed audience that we have commenced the much advertised Post Graduate School,” he added.

He congratulated the new students on their achievements that have led them into being admitted into the university.

Sert said, “I will advise you to spend your time wisely; time is very crucial because it waits for no man. Always recognise your studies as your number one priority.

“Remember that the toil and hard work of your parents, family members and guardians has brought you to this pedestal, so that you would enjoy this enviable privilege.”

Responding, one of the new students, Mr. Ahmed Mai Deribe, said, “A new chapter has been opened in our lives and we have the pen to write our first few words.”
