As part of efforts and commitment to ensure accurate weather forecasting and rain prediction in Nasarawa state , the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has donated Meteorological Enclosure Station to the Nasarawa State Water Board to sensor atmospheric and soil conditions of the state.
The NiMet Director General, Prof. Mansur Bako Matazzu, who donated the enclosure station to the Nasarawa State Water Board in Lafia the state Capital at the weekend asserted that the gesture was as a result of the immense contributions and commitment of the State Water Board General manager Ahmad Abubakar Kana and his management team.
Prof Muttazzu also opined that, Nasarawa State deserved the Meteorological station for the purposes of generating Data and to analyse the amount of rainfall in the state.
The DG further stressed that, NiMet was established to maintain mutual relationship with water regulators of each states of the Federation inorder to enable them set up meteorological stations.
According to him, the deployment and installation of the equipment in the state was in fulfilment of the pledge so far made to the board, adding that the same gesture has been offered to other States in the country.
