NIPC, Bayelsa govt synergize on investment promotion

As part of efforts to build synergy with the States for effective investment promotion, the Executive Secretary/CEO, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Ms Yewande Sadiku led her team on a courtesy call to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri in the Government House, Yenegoa.
Information contained in the NIPC newsletter said the visit was on 5 November, 2020.
Ms Sadiku explained the mandate of the Commission to the Governor and his team and sought his support on establishing an Investment Promotion Agency for Bayelsa State.
Governor Diri pledged to work with NIPC to attract investment to the State, stating that Bayelsa was the most peaceful State in the South South region.
Bayelsa State has a comparative advantage in salt and clay deposits which are used in the production of ceramics.
Bayelsa is also the largest producers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the source of 40% of onshore crude oil production in the country.
