NiWAB identifies challenges of agribusiness in Jigawa

The Nigerian Women in Agribusiness (NiWAB) has called for timely disbursement of farm inputs, increase access to agricultural businesses in Jigawa state.

The call was made during the state level round table discussion with key stakeholders in agribusiness in Jigawa state, held on Wednesday at new Secretariat Dutse.

The stakeholders during the meeting identified major challenges bedivilling the agricultural business in the state and designed a better solution for better and successful agricultural business in the state.

Some of the challenges identified include farmer limited access to financing, late disbursement of farm inputs to farmers, inadequate training of modern farming techniques to farmers and shortages of extension workers.

Others are failure to targeted real farmers in many support, lack of trust from the side of farmer, unseriouness as most of farmers failed to repay back loan for others to benefit among many other challenges.

While speaking during the meeting, the North-west coordinator Nigerian Agribusiness Hajiya Balaraba Abdullahi said, the round table discussion aimed at identifying challenges and gaps of agribusiness in Jigawa state.
