NNL fines 3SC N200, 000 over fans misconduct

Date:

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has sanctioned Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan with a N200, 000 fines for the alleged physical assault on match officials by its fans.

In a letter to the club, signed by the league’s Secretary, Lawrence Katken, NNL said the incident was recorded during the club’s last home tie against Prime FC of Ogbomoso.

“The official match reports indicated that Ibadan fans manhandled the game’s officials before the commencement of the encounter, while the match referee was again assaulted after the game.

“In view of these acts, the host team has flouted the rules and regulations of the game and will therefore pay a fine of N200,000 which will be paid within three weeks,’’ the league organisers said.
