No cracks in northern CAN, youth wing clarifies

The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) in the 19 Northern States and Abuja has distanced itself from a purported allegation by its immediate past leadership that the recently conducted peaceful election has caused different factions within the larger body.
Chairman of the YOWICAN in the nineteen northern states and Abuja, Evangelist Musa Misal, in a press statement made available to newsmen in Gombe yesterday said the allegations by the immediate past leader of YOWICAN Daniel Kadzai, in some media outfits (not Peoples Daily) that the election was illegal and has caused divisions within the larger CAN family, is not only untrue, bizarre, ill conceived but also laughable.
Evangelist Musa explained in the statement signed by him and the Secretary, Sarafa Adekunle Oyewo, that all the five blocks including TEKAN/ECWA to which Kadzai belongs to, provided authentic delegates and even contested the elections adding that all the states and zones were dully and fully in attendance by the statutory delegates during the elections.
The statement said that YOWICAN is a living witness to what transpired before, during and after the elections that produced Apostle Andy Nyeneime as the authentic and bonafide National President of YOWICAN.
According to the statement, “Kadzai in his usual characteristics of mischief and dubiousness has failed to acknowledge the true fact that this organization is a faith based organization which should be purely guided by Christian doctrines. We no longer admit such attitude of him, such that his tenure started with court actions and ended with court actions. This leaves much to be desired from a true believer much more a leader of a faith based body”.
While pledging its continued loyalty and support to the CAN leadership under His Eminence, Reverend Dr. Supo Ayokunle, YOWICAN therefore advised Kadzai to tow the path of honour and cooperate with the newly elected and rebranded YOWICAN under the leadership of Apostle Andy Nyeneime to which they are all loyal to and supportive of.
“We in the nineteen Northern States wish to state without any iota of doubt that the election held on Saturday 27th January, 2018 was not only free, fair, and credible but also reflect our collective wishes.
“We call on our brothers from the South-East, South-South and South-West to raise their voices in unison to condemn this unwarranted and provocative display of greed and power drunkenness by Daniel Kadzai and his sponsors,”
