The Northern Christian Youth Professionals, NCYP, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-nomination of Vice President Kashim Shettima as the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, calling it a sign of gratitude and a reward for loyalty.

In a press statement issued on July 11, 2026, and signed by its National Chairman, Isaac Abrak, the group stated that the decision shows President Tinubu is a leader who values sacrifice, faithfulness, and gratitude.

“To us, this decision demonstrates that President Tinubu is a leader who values loyalty, sacrifice, faithfulness, and gratitude. It reinforces the biblical principle that those who remain faithful should be appreciated and rewarded,” the statement read.

The NCYP recalled that Vice President Shettima stood firmly with President Tinubu in 2022 when many doubted his presidential ambitions. According to the group, Shettima faced criticism, including from within his own region, during the implementation of tough reforms, but principles committed to his principal.

“He endured personal and political attacks, lost friends and associates, yet never wavered in his commitment, always stating that ‘President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my boss, and I remain grateful to him,’” the group said.

Drawing from scripture, the NCYP said the re-nomination reflects a godly virtue. The group cited 1 Corinthians 4:2, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful,” and compared Shettima’s steadfastness to Joseph, whose faithfulness through trials led to his elevation in Egypt, as recorded in Genesis 39–41.

honorsieve God honors loyalty and integrity,” the statement added.

The group noted that President Tinubu’s decision emphasizes the importance of rewarding faithfulness in public service and governance.

As a result, NCYP reaffirmed its full support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket and pledged to mobilize for the 2027 presidential election actively.

“As a Christian organization, we are committed to working even harder than we did in 2023 to ensure victory in the 2027 presidential election,” Abrak stated.

The group prayed for divine guidance and success for the President and Vice President.

“May Almighty God continue to guide President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima and grant them victory in 2027,” the statement concluded.
