The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has berated the so-called Northern Elders Council (NEC) as the northern wing of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) campaigning for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections.
“We consider this particular group as the Northern wing of TAN, and whose only assignment is to campaign for the re-election of President Jonathan in the 2015 elections with an anointed running-mate, Architect Namadi Sambo”, the Forum said.
According to the Secretary of the NEF, Professor Ango Abdullahi, that is the difference between the NEF and NEC, as the forum has the position of Nigerian President of Northern extraction, contrary to the parley of the council that is happy for North not producing the President in 2015.
Professor Abdullahi, who was addressing a press conference shortly after the forum meeting in Bauchi, said NEF now considers TAN as the mouth-piece of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and most specifically, of President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to the NEF Secretary, it is now obvious even to the doubting Thomas is that the group so-called Northern Elders Council is the northern wing of the faceless people behind TAN.
