Northern Governors celebrate Shettima at 60, hails VP’s distinguished service to Nigeria

The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) have congratulated the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a patriot and a distinguished leader committed to Nigeria’s progress.

The NSGF said this in a statement by its Chairman and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

In their goodwill message, the Northern States Governors’ Forum, said attaining the age of 60 provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on Senator Shettima’s remarkable journey in public service and his enduring contributions to the development of Nigeria.

They noted that the Vice President had distinguished himself at every stage of his political career through intellectual depth, courage of conviction, strategic foresight, humility and an abiding commitment to the public good.

The Northern Governors particularly commended the Vice President for his steadfast loyalty and invaluable partnership with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that his contributions have gone a long way to strengthen the administration’s efforts to address the country’s economic and developmental challenges.

The NNGF also lauded Senator Shettima’s leadership of the National Economic Council (NEC), describing his role in coordinating critical economic policy discussions and fostering collaboration between the Federal Government and the states as a reflection of his experience, competence and deep sense of national duty.

“Attaining the remarkable milestone of 60 is not only a celebration of age, but a moment to reflect on a life of purposeful service, remarkable accomplishments and enduring commitment to the people and the nation,” they said.

The Governors noted that the Vice President’s leadership journey remains an inspiration, particularly to younger Nigerians aspiring to contribute meaningfully to national development.

They expressed confidence that Senator Shettima would continue to bring his wealth of experience, intellect and patriotism to bear in supporting President Tinubu and advancing the collective aspirations of Nigerians.

The Governors thus joined Senator Shettima’s family, friends, associates and well-wishers across the country in celebrating his 60th birthday and honouring his distinguished record of public service.

They prayed Almighty Allah to continue to bless the Vice President with sound health, abundant wisdom, renewed strength and enduring grace, while guiding him as he continues to serve Nigeria and humanity with distinction.
